After she gave her opinion that parents should read to their children until they were older. I'm still reading to DS#1 who is 9 and have no intention of stopping anytime soon but I've had so many raised eyebrows and comments from other parents..'Oh, mine reads to himself now, has done for a few years...'. DS#1 is a competent reader but no more than that and reading a really long book would take his so long he'd give up before he started, so we read them together. We've done all the Narnia books (twice!), Hobbit and lOTR (bit of a marathon that one), various Moomnitroll books. Trying to persuade him that he wants to try Philip Pullman next.

I love it, he loves it, brings us closer etc etc ....basically all the things that jaqueline Wilson says. Smile

good on you!

I love reading and want to pass it on to my boys too, we will read to them for as long as they want!

PS- seen a programme on TV about JW, she seems a bit eccentric but really great!

I am still reading to DD(8). DS(12) sometimes comes in to listen. DD reads to herself after we have finished - atm we are reading Jacqueline Wilson (Cliffhanger).
