Calling all Teaching Assistants....actually calling Everyone On MN would be good. I need your help.

I'm filling in my appilcation for Teaching Assisatnt course staring in sept and I need to answer the "why do you want to be a teaching assistant" question.

well the main reason is because it's a job that will give me school holidays off and is in school hours but I can't put that.

It's only a small section, I'll prooabaly fit 50 word max in the space but I'm just stuck.

I've been helping out at school recently and I know it's the right thing to do. The kids seem to like me (got 2 pictures today with "I Love you" from the kids), The teacher complimented me today on how I handled the literacy exercise with my group so I think I'll be good at the job. And I've already been asked where I worked with children before because "i'm a natural" with them...I haven't worked with children before, only my own!!

Help me, oh wonderful MNland....

I don't understand - do you mean you're applying for a job but don't know the salary? How can you know whether you can afford to live on it or not??

we live on Dh's salary ATM. I'm returning to work after having the children and this will be extra.

I suspect it's around 8-10,000

BTW, it's not the job yet...I'm just applying for a place on the course

making sure every child has a good time at school whilst making sure they will be moving forward

Ah I see i have done levels 1-3 but never ever had to fill in an application.Just a thought while i am on with this.The job I have in school at present I have got not only because Iam qualified but I have additional skills-makaton training so it might be worth thinking about giving yourself the edge of other possible candidates by doing something like this as well.
