Not at the moment, our child (who is that way inclined) is a little younger,

But I will be interested in hearing your experience, as this has been mentioned as something we should be thinking about.

DS is going for a Y9 sports scholarship, but it isn't until March. He's looking forward to it because its a day off school.

I'd be very interested to learn how sports scholarships come about? Does your current school have to recommend the child? Is it in one particular sport? How old does the child have to be? Primary? Secondary? (as you can tell I really haven't a clue).

Good luck x

Most sports scholarships are seniors. At DDs school you need to be an outstanding athlete. An example would be a girl who has been in the fastest 20 swimmers in the South England in her stroke/distance for the last 3 years.

DD2 next week for year 7. She's good....but has not really had the club opportunities. We should have thought of that! So, wishful thinking really....

Dd1 is county level and has won or been 2nd in two events for the last 2 years. Think it depends very much on the other applicants. Major award is 30 percent which would be nice!
