Wonderful, no school run.

No yelling at the kids to get dressed.

No flogging through the traffic.

Sigh.

Smile love it Smile love it Smile

We've had a week already, but still got another week and a bit to go!

Blandmum · 10/04/2006 08:00

Today is our first day off.....this made for a very long a tiring half term. The kids really neaded the break.

So we have two wonderful weeks off school!

YIPPPEEE!

And tomorrow we go to Holland on holiday.

Double YIPPPEEE!

(I'm more excited than the kids Grin )

Where are you going/what are you doing in Holland?

We went to Edinburgh/Glasgow - went to fab science festival at Edinburgh, and (among other things) the boys got to extract DNA from peas ... so I can cross it off my list of things to do at home now Grin

Did you ever get the egg thing to work?

If you are looking for things to do with them have a shufti at this site

We are going here \link{http://www.duinrell.com/\Duinrell}

It is a great place....have been twice before and the kids talk about those holidays more than Disneyland Paris! We have the luxury of a cravan....too cold for the tent at Easter!

Yes, we did get the egg thing working.
Have a great holiday - looks lovely, especially the pool!

Blandmum · 10/04/2006 08:14

The pool and the theme park are both free as part of the holiday. You get two hours inthe pool each day and all day in the park. A week works out the same price as a weekent in a UK Centreparc

MB - looks like a great place to stay! Are you getting a ferry over or flying?

Blandmum · 10/04/2006 08:24

Eurotunnel.....we are dreadful sailors Envy is what we look like on a boat. the tunnel is in with the price btw!

We hire go-karts for the kids for the week. They think it is wonderful. We go with Canvas and the caravans are excellent. You can also go in your own tent, but it is just too cold in Holland this time of the year for us. It is a great place to go with kids, loads to do, you can spend a few hours in the park and them come home for a chill.....you don't feel you have to cram everything in a day.

It's heaven! So relaxed. My eldest 2 have spent the entire first week in the park with their friends, coming home red-cheeked, hungry and grubby. Raining now though Sad

We're enjoying the hols too - went to London on the river boat yesterday and just wandered around by the Eye - lots of street entertainers. Today been baking with DD and had a tea party!

Boo hiss at having to work tomorrow. Kids will be with my mum and I'll miss all the fun.

wangle99 · 12/04/2006 07:28

It's fab isn't it. We've been crafty, baking, walking etc.

Although DD keeps saying she is missing school (which I am pleased of course!).

I'm having a horrible time - essay to write which is making me grumpy. It's not fair on my children so I'm feeling guilty at not being a good parent or a good student at the moment. Also need to pack for weekend away, children need to tidy up before cleaner comes... all because of my stupid course. I would give up now if I hadn't paid so much to do it. Fell asleep fully dressed at 3 am over a very boring article about phonological awareness. Dh's phone isn't working (he's abroad).
Moan over - thank you feel much better. Will now go and bin the Hot Cross Buns to save me from them.
