My 7 year old started year 3 in September and all through first school (a different school) was with SENCO and still is and he struggles wit reading and writing. The SENCO at his new school is rubbish and I am not the only one with this opinion. I feel like they are failing my son and not helping him enough. I have out him on a waiting list for another local school who's SENCO appears to be much better (from what I have heard). I am seriously considering moving him if a place becomes available but I am worried if this is the right decision as he will be leaving all his friends although I realises his education needs should become first I just need some reassurance that this decision is a good thing. Has anyone had any experience wit moving their child to a different school (for whatever reasons) and how did they cope with the move/change? Thanks
