Anybody else's child missing school terribly this half-term?

Dd1 has been quite moody and easily upset all day - was wondering what's wrong with her - then it finally struck me: she misses school! When I asked her she agreed straightaway - she particularly misses her teacher whom she totally adores.
She's in reception btw.

You're having an early half-term, ours don't break up til this Friday. Can't see ds missing it though. He is also in reception.

Do you think it might be overtiredness, emkana? I find my children take a while to unwind from the gruelling school schedule. They almost have to learn how to relax and entertain themselves again.

Could be I suppose jalopy!

Emkana - interesting thought. DD is an only child, and I think my ability to entertain/occupy her is not nearly as stimulating as a full school day. DD likes a bit of downtime - about a weekend's worth - and then she gets bored. Is yours the same?

I think dd1 is quite good at entertaining herself, but she hates having her routines disturbed, and I think half-term throws her a bit because there's no routine!

Good to know she likes school so much - dd is the same. Did she have a hard time over Christmas break, or was there so much other excitement that she was ok?

All the other half-terms so far we've been away, because we go back to Germany where I'm from so much. So this is her first half-term where she's just hanging around really.

I am very happy that she loves school so much, I really hope it stays that way for a long time!
