MY DS is appearing in entrance exam for year 3 admission. Does anyone have any idea how many boys are appearing for exam this year?

Your best bet is just to call the Admissions Office directly. Numbers always get bandied about, and seem to get larger and larger as the source of the information gets more distant from the originator.

Had heard that numbers of 180 - 200 were applying this year at 7+

Not sure about this year's numbers but my DS did the exams last jan and then the numbers were such that the chance to get a place was about 1 in 3. DS got in and also to another school we did the exams for and is now at the other one . It was a touch choice. At 8 it was more like 1 in 10 chance.

My ds did the exam last year. We were told that there were 185 applicants, and that this was a fairly typical number each year.
