CAT's test results year 3

I was hoping someone with a bit more knowledge on the tests could help me out, as I thought I knew but am now totally confused!
My DS has just been given his results:

Verbal 106
Quantative 114
Non-verbal 85
Spatial 130

Firstly, my older DD's scores have always been a few points here or there, so is it normal to have a big gap between scores? also I have never been given a spatial score before (I thought spatial and non-verbal were kind of the same thing) so does anyone know what that's about as the SAT's guides etc don't mention spatial tests.

There's a teachers' guide here that might help (although it makes no mention of 'spatial' testing either).

Many thanks for the link. I think I may have to ask his teacher what the spatial score is, as I cant seem to find any info on that. Has anyone else ever been given a spatial score?

Not heard of spatial before.

The core scores here seem quite spread, although they are firmly spread around average, so the difference is not necessarily as big as it seems.

A score of 85 is on the 16th percentile, and 114 is on the 82nd percentile, and both in the 'average' range really - one in six children will score lower than 85, and one in six higher than 114, so neither terribly unusual.

130 is 98th percentile, one in 44 score higher than this.

Thanks for replying. Think I'm just going to ignore the spatial score. Teacher said he had a mean score of 109, but if I take out the spatial then it's 102. That will put him about average I think so I'm happy with that as long as having a big gap between two scores is not an indicator of a problem.
