www.gov.uk/browse/education/school-admissions-transport

The finance pages are RIDDLED with errors.

Could the education experts have a look and see whether the same is true of the education pages?

bump for the evening

would be eternally grateful if people like prh could have a quick skim - as if the misinformation about school admissions is anything like that about tax, you're going to be a busy chap!

I've found a couple of errors and have reported them.

A lot of the pages do very little other than direct you to your LA. That is particularly odd for the home schooling page as the index page implies it will give you some useful information.

I've spotted one minor factual error and one formatting error, plus one sentence that ends in a preposition! Most of it isn't actually wrong, it is just hugely simplified. The question is whether it is oversimplified.

I see that the site is supposed to be "simpler, clearer, faster" than Directgov. It certainly seems to be faster and the layout is uncluttered. My view is that many parents will find it easier to get the information they need, but those who want or need more detailed information will find it harder.
