I'm involved in the set up of the Archer Academy, thanks for asking the question.
It's not so much that we don't know; more that we are in the process of negotiating to secure our premises (with the backing of the DfE, the EFA and Barnet Council) and we aren't able to go public with anything until it is literally signed, sealed and delivered. We have, however, always planned that the school would be located in or around East Finchley, with its intake coming mainly from N2 N3 and NW11.
We're aware that everyone is really keen to have this question answered - and indeed we really want to be able to share this information with you all, as we know it's a crucial part of our offering. But until everything is confirmed we can't say more than this. We will announce it as soon as we can on our website and to our supporter list - if you'd like to sign up to get our update emails you can do so here: www.thearcheracademy.org.uk/contact/sign-up-for-updates.
It's also probably worth me mentioning that, because we're doing our own admissions this year, prospective parents have to apply direct to us (in addition to completing the common application form). If they're successful, they will receive an offer from us in March in addition to whatever school their local authority allocates them. Unusually, that means they would actually have a choice of state school places on offers day - and by then our premises will have been confirmed, and our headteacher announced.
So even though we can't tell you exactly where it will be right now, it's still worth applying if you have Year 6 children, because by the time you would need to make your final decision, you would be able to make an informed choice about which school is best for your child.
Hope that's useful - feel free to ask more questions here or via our website. And nlondondad, thanks for including that link!
