DD has just written.......

....this about the bullying
Some of it is just nonesense - but it upset me

Bossy makes me want to cry
feel like a jigsaw with peices missing
Skin like a baboon I felt shuddery
being called stoopid cross angry and uncivil
called fluffy haired mop girl felt like baby wanted family
shook head against wall I wanted Lydia
the boys tease but that is the point of being a boy
choose to sit with year 2 X made me feel bad cause I didn't sit next to her
made me feel hot bothered and wet
she is head she makes people do things
she makes BF call names
makes F break hearts
S&R kick with the stilt or pretend to
I am a friend to tell truth cos I get told off
she thinks lydia is too grand with her blonds hair to play with miss brown girl
I do not want to be called names

But lots of it is just little girl stuff

I have a meeting I am very scared about tomorrow (with the head and the family support worker)

I am very scared

It just seems so nebulous it's all little girl stuff - is i bullying?

I can understand you feeling scared km, but try to hold on to the fact that you have tried very hard to get the school to understand what has been going on. You are in the right - doing your best to protect your daughter - you must hold onto that.

The stuff she has written just doesn't seem that serious

She got very upset when writing it

She said she can't tell me stuff as I'll get upset

I wont be on here tomorrow morning as I will be supporting a client BUT I will be thinking of you, and remember your support workers job is to support you,hope she does.

Notasheep - dd has made a decision she wants to go to school without a particular child - whether this is her school or a different one she doesn't mind

She wants to stay with her friend but if the other girls stay she wants to go

There are 3 girls in her year

So at this meeting tomorrow is a decision going to be made?

With my experience of supporting children the decisions that the children make are normally by far the most appropriate/honest,rather than a decision by a Social Worker etc hope that makes sense.

Tomorrow is (I think) just to establish what may or maynot have been happening
It is not even to discuss the bad (in my opinion) handling of my complaints

I don't think any decisions will be made

However as I only have one week until the easter hols if she is going to another school I need to decide which one and see if thay have a place, sort out uniform etc and get ready to start after easter.

Puff - do you really think it sounds serious

As they haven't spoken to the other child's parents yet I think it's unlikely that she will excluded (I don't think that would be appropriate anyway)

So that means new school

OMG-this sounds so familiar-they will end up having meeting after meeting,then a meeting to discuss the meeting blah blah blah (sorry i am ranting)

DD wants to avoid this child - I feel that I should enable that to happen

If she is prepared to "lose" her BF to get away I have to take that seriously...don't I

She got so upset trying to explain what this child does to her

She cannot (not will not) explain

She got so upset - not sobbing - just dripping tears

How can I persuade her to explain when it's obvious she can't

So contingency plan - move her for 1 term, middle school in Sept

KM I moved my daughter at Christmas after discussion with her. Best move I ever made, even if her problem was the teacher. It sounds serious to me - it obviously is to her. Stay strong for her tomorrow - hope it goes OK. I used to hate confrontation, but have worked out that as mum to my 4 I have to talk out for them. You'll be just fine. I hope she finds a happierschool.

I think there comes a point where what happened was not important

Whilst I did not know why she was upset - I could not move her for fear of making things worse

I now know she is unhappy at school - so moving her is vital

Look.I am not going into detail here,I was unhappy at school,my mum didnt move me and i still resent her for it.

The last time someone pissed DH off (they sacked me)...within 3 years one partner had committed suicide and the other had a heart attack.......

Yes, honestly I do think it's serious and your dd being too distressed to be able to "get out" in the "spoken" word what has been happening, means whatever has happened, has hit her very hard indeed.

I think you are right to be seriously considering a move to another school.

Tons of luck for tomorrow - above all stay calm, you have done and will continue to do your very best for your dd.
