Gap Year Recommendations

Ds is in his upper sixth year, he is planning to take a gap year next year which I am in favour of. He will need to spend some time working but would also like to spend some time sailing (he is already on the college team for the Tall Ships Race 2013). He would also like to spend some time overseas doing some sort of marine conservation or research work.

Any recommendations of organisations or projects would be wonderful.

Hope he enjoys his year. DD took a year out before going to Unversity and is pleased that she did. Many of the straight-from-school seemed very immature and not making the most of opportunities, in her opinion.
