Whitstable primary/secondary schools

We are thinking about moving to Whitstable and wondering about schools there. We would not move until next spring/summer so would have children going into Yr 1 and Yr 3. Just wondering which schools are most highly rated and if their catchment areas are tiny/how oversubscribed they all are! ... and also thinking ahead to secondaries - how easy is it to get into schools in Canterbury? Or do most kids go to school in Whitstable?

Kent runs a full grammar system - you are best reading up on their website ....

There are some good schools in Whitstable but only at primary. For secondary Queen Elizabeths at Faversham is a good mixed grammar school. Blean Primary School has high pass rates but is on the road towards Canterbury and is oversubscribed so hardish to get into to. Hernhill just outside Whitstable and Cromwell Road in the town are two good primaries too.
