Moving house & staying at the same school

Does anyone know if it is OK to leave your child at the same school if you move out of the local authority that school is in?

We are moving house 2 miles away which takes us from Lancashire County Council to Bury Council. We don't want the children to have the upheaval of changing school and leaving their friends.

If they are already attending the school, (not just waiting to start), then yes they have an absolute right to remain. But you will be responsible for transport costs.
