Which shoes?

Planning ahead, is it best to buy the best you can afford or go cheap and expect to replace often?

DD1 tends to have Ricosta or Petasil shoes to wear day to day but now she's starting school in September I can't decide whats best. So am calling on your experience.

Realistically I can only afford one good make so, should it be for school or out of school shoes.

She has Birkenstocks for the summer so I was planning on buying cheap play shoes and then a good make for school as she will be there most often. But is it a waste to have good shoes at school?

Her school only use plimsoles for PE.

My DD has petasil school shoes and we'll be sticking with those. We tried star trite as slightly cheaper but they gave her blisters and the strap fell off after less than a term! Considering how much time they spend in them I would say pay more for school shoes if you can.

We are using Tescos boys school shoes at moment and they are soft, comfy and hard wearing.
