"?Me and a Flag and a Carrier Bag?
The British Schools Museum is offering a challenge, alongside a display, to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the Union Flag ? or Union Jack. Send in a photograph of you or a friend ? but include in the picture a flag (handheld, on a building, or anywhere) and ? most important ? a British Schools Carrier Bag. We want to see flags from across the world, not just Union Jacks. Tell us about the flag ? what do the symbols and colours mean? We?ll send you more information and a carrier bag if you enclose a LARGE stamped, addressed envelope to ?Me and a Flag?, The British Schools Museum, Queen Street, Hitchin, SG4 9TS, UK. Better still, call in and see us! There are prizes, and your photograph will add to our display until the end of October!
Closing date for entries - 31st August 2006"
I thought it might be interesting for MN kids
When DS1 was in Beavers in 1996 they had an anniversary (forget what) and his troop had a little scroll which various members took with them on holiday to various places - we took it to Scotland and photographed it at Mull of Kintyre and Loch Lomond - it was fun!
