After hearing so many horror stories about bullying, just wanted to say that some schools DO deal with problems well.
It was just taunting really, but ds was upset, and it has been stamped on immediately by the deputy head.
Feel Sad that it has happened at all, but also Smile by school's response.

Same here. Smile

Deputy head dealt with a very sweet looking little girl taunting and hitting my DS very extremely recently.

After I alerted the school DS came home and said "Ha! He talked to her. She won't be hitting me again!"

Not sure what deputy head said, but DS was very satisfied with the outcome. Smile

Same here, one boy was moved for calling DD "fat" (not that bad except when you worry about Anorexia).
Another got detention for calling her a "witch" then isolation when he tried to take it out on her for having got him detention (I think he slowly got the message).

same experience here

all dcs' schools - including the one where we were bullied by the ht- have had very robust and well enforced policies on bullying by children
