Academy watching - how can I collect information?

I hope this is not a silly question...

My school is going to be waiting as long as we think it's right to go for academy status, but want to ensure that if and when the time comes we have the right information and abilities to do it properly. We have had the presentation from one of the companies that jets in and does the conversion, but we want to be sure that we are in a good position to carry on when they've gone and to go into it all with our eyes as open as possible.

So is there anywhere that is keeping a general eye on the situation and how schools are coping, and that makes this information accessible, preferably without a political axe to grind - any website, research body or educational body that collects together information and experiences from around the country, or is it something that we are going to have to look to many different sources for?

We went academy last September, sadly it has become a license to bully by senior management. I am dreading when the 2 years protection of terms and conditions is up.

I know the unions are keeping an eye on it so maybe if you contact the professional bodies or even the teacher training extablishments.

I'd say look to many different sources. All information comes from a political pov.

When looking into academies I found these items which were very enlightening about the academy chains that are taking over or being given schools by Mr Gove.
