Hello, I am a newbie on this website and this is my very first post, so forgive me if I am a bit scattered with my answers at first.
I would very much appreciate your feedback and opinions on The Henrietta Barnett school, the girls, the teachers, the music etc.
Have you any experience with it and what is it? What are the opportunities given to the girls upon graduation?
Many thanks in advance for all your information. :)

Hi, I have no personal experience but word on the street is that this is an amazing school. It's probably not great for a very sporty girl but I'm told that everything else more than makes up for it. The destinations of leavers can be googled by looking at the Sutton Trust paper "Degrees of Success".
On the negative side, it's vv difficult to get into.. I know kids who got into the very best indie schools but not HB. I won't name the indie schools in case war breaks out! That said, the same could be said about other schools, e.g. DAO and others.

The main thing is that it is hugely competitive to get in to.

A former head of Henrietta Barnet is a governor at the primary school whose GB I am on, and she is a very impressive lady. But then she is an EX head but if they have kept up the standard of appointment, that would bode well...

Rather randomly, I was very good friends with the current head at university. Lovely man!

Thank you all very much for the comments! They are really reassuring!
My daughter did get in and is starting in September. I never managed to find any reviews on the school other than my personal views from the visits, so am glad to hear other people's opinions. GirlsInWhiteDresses - She is not very sporty (does the usual - riding, ice-skating, swimming) but nothing major teamwise, so not bothered about this. The main reason for me to accept the offer was their academic standard and very strong music (she plays 3 instruments, so quite important for us).
Thank you once again for taking the time to respond and apologies for the late answer - as you can see I am still quite new to this :).

Cartey - lucky dd! You have a bright spark on your hands there!

There is also a thread on the Herts/Barnet forum of the elevenplusforum which you would find interesting, and lots of current parents.

Thank you so much for this. I shall look at these threads now. :)
