Hi,

Calling all those with a child with dyspraxia!

A friend has asked me to post a thread to link to a survey up on the Dyspraxia Foundation website.

They are trying to find out what faciltiies and support children with dyspraxia need in their mainstream or special school and to what extent they are lacking.

I think the plan is to approach the government to try and ensure their needs are met more accurately.

The link is www.dyspraxiafoundation.org.uk/news/show_news.php?id=8

It would really help them if you could fill out the survey.

Thank you!

hi, my dd aged 9 was diagnosed with dyspraxia 18months ago. This was after many depressing years trying to get someone to listen to us that there was something wrong with her development. I have 2 chdn 11months age diff. She wasnt dressing, couldnt use knife fork, brush teeth etc, all things assoc with dyspr. School wise she began falling behind, is more immature than her peers, gets upset during pe b/cos of phys diffic. I dont think she gets enough support at school, partly because she is so quiet, doesnt speak out much, but at home its a diff story. Its like she saves all her frustration then cant express herself very well. We have asked for support, but apart from physio havent been given any regarding behav. There isnt enough knowledge or support for dyspraxia
