Closing a failing school down?

Is this likely to happen? Our special measures school had the local press crawling around it yesterday interviewing the parents and the rumour mill has started.

It has been in special measures two or three times in the past decade, but isn't it more likely that an academy will take over?

I doubt whether they will close it down - with such a shortage of school places - more likely they will get a 'Super Head' to come in an academy .

The Board of Governors should really put a statement out to the parents to advise them the course of action.
