We're not for another week either.

mummyhill · 09/02/2006 09:33

Mine break up this friday but goes back just as my friends children go back which is a shame because we were hoping to get together over the holiday.

brightstar1 · 09/02/2006 13:53

I want to know aswell!!! Why don't they teacher train in half term?.

Piffle · 09/02/2006 13:54

following week here in Lincs too!

NomDePlume · 09/02/2006 13:55

We're on half term next week, too

roisin · 09/02/2006 16:56

We've got another week to go before half term too
I'm shattered, and am not looking forward to another week at school before the hols. BUT when we go back we only have a very short half term - 5 wks and we have INSET day at the beginning and end of the term

(I work in a secondary school just in case that's not clear!)

brightstar1 · 11/02/2006 11:24

Roisin,do you know why we have inset days during term time?

Aero · 11/02/2006 11:30

Probably so that teachers get their full half-term break too I would imagine.

Brightstar - as I understand it - in Cumbria at least, there are 190 days in a school year. Plus an additional 5 days non-contact time for which full-time teachers are contracted.
