Moving to Surrey?

I currently live in Somerset and am looking to move to Surrey. I ideally want to live in a village which is close to a town and has good primary schools. I like rural areas and nothing to built up. A good safe community and somewhere nice to bring up 2 children and a dog. Help!

Surrey is pretty safe. The big issue is usually secondary schools.
There are very few places that are very rural, lots of pretty commuter villages though. Have you visited? And why do you want to move here?

Surrey is vast! Would you like to be inside the M25 or outside? You might like somewhere like Walton-on-the-hill which is near Epsom and Dorking? Or Ashtead? Banstead? Reigate? Some of the villages around Redhill and Reigate are very pretty and a bit cheaper but you are usually close to the M25 or M23 then or under the Gatwick flightpaths.

That sounded worse than I meant it too, just that Surrey isn't as rural as you'd think (not that living near the M25 or Gatwick is a problem!! Both very useful!) Even when you have beautiful rolling hills you can usually hear a main road very clearly.

How much money have you got? Surrey is expensive and there are a lot of people with deep pockets looking for the same kind of thing as you. Agree that there are lots of good primaries in different areas but secondary provision in many of those same areas becomes problematic. Do you need to be close to anywhere in particular for work?

Lots of places in Surrey fit this description, eg. Abinger Common, Westcott, Brockham. Cranleigh possibly.

There are loads of places in Surrey that I would like to move to, but simply could never afford to. Instead of living in Virginia Water or Cobham, I just have to drive through there on my way to work. oh well!!

I would recommend Farnham it is absolutely beautiful
