Hi
just wondering if there are any Mums from Southampton and if so what do you think of the proposed changes to our secondary schools? Would love to hear some different opinions.

Hi heard about the changes as MIL works at a secondary school affected but luckily the school that merges won't affect her job. I think that the changes may cause problems for some areas but may be better for others

hi
Mt dy goes to one of the schools they are going to mix, (i know its not official but I'll be amazed if it doesn't go ahead). I am so against the changes, but can see why the boys school may want to be merged with the girls. The girls is very successful and doing well, the boys is on special measures. Any other views?

I'm a New Forest mum/teacher and am not really aware of proposed changes. Hope they don't involve St. Annes because we're hoping to send our dds there in due course!

Hi
The proposals re St Annes said "St Anne's and St George are V.A schools, meaning their sites and buildings are owned by trustees. Legally it is the responsibility of governing bodies and the Portsmouth Roman Catholica Diocese to make organisational changes at these schools. The council is working closely with the two schools, their trustees and the diocese to achieve arrangements that are as joined up as possible".
Whatever that means!!! My DD is at Regents Park and they are proposing merging it with Bellemoor. I'm not a happy Mum!
