Year 3 entrance for my daughter - new to area - have place at OHS Junior or Headington Prep for Year 3 - any suggestions on which offer to accept?

Both are very good. I know parents who rave about both.

I would say Headington more rounded emphasis on arts, sport, music but OHS more focussed on academic league table.

The key determinant though will be where you want to live. North Oxford (nearest OHS) is ultra expensive. Close to London prices. Headington is cheaper.

Don't underestimate the horrendous traffic congestion in Oxford. You do not want to drive through Oxford if at all possible in early morning. Live close to whichever school you choose and walk.

Thanks - we will be based in Old Marston, so roughly equidistant between the two and both possible on bikes.

OHS Junior seemed to have large classes when we looked round - anyone heard if thats a problem?

Toughasoldboots - out of interest when are you speaking of with your experience? They have a Head that has been there 2 ish years now, was it within that time?

Go for Headington prep, it's fab. My daughter simply loves.
