lapsedorienteerer · 30/03/2014 19:39

No inside knowledge of school but it's pronounced Bridge-a-dean (as far as I knowGrin).

I agree. I cannot believe its fees are so high for the very low quality of education they offer. Does this school actually have a Headmaster?
I think you should think twice.

Elsa10 · 12/04/2014 14:12

thanks for the pronunciation! (i was sayin briggy-dine!) I thought that their financial situation had picked up? i read an article about it... i tend to like "imperfect" "scattered" institutions! and people for that matter! it seems to make them more human, humble, open-minded.. (Can't stand the attitude of some of those "outstanding" sought-after schools; they can be so arrogant!
anyway, anyone know about the prayers and RE issue? thanks!

Hi there

Goodness, getting jittery feet about signing up for brigidine after reading these posts.

Had thought their financial problems were over. Am about to send my boy there to start in reception in sept.

Is the standard of education poor. Is that the issue.

Keen to avoid having to pull him out to anither school if the school closes down. Are they really in dire straits like this.

Any further info u may have would be helpful. Also concerned about odd comments around disappearing headmasters.

Help!

Look at Hurst Lodge, Ascot. Great atmosphere

Surely you are aware that this is the 5th Headteacher in less than 2 years.

Littlefish · 14/08/2014 18:14

There is a thread here about Hurst Lodge on Mumsnet - it seems to have its own problems too.

There are so many good schools in the area that I don't really understand why anyone would send a child to a school which gets such mixed reviews. It may be great but why risk it?

grovel · 15/08/2014 22:37

The governing body hardly inspires. Where are the experienced educationalists?

If the staff turnover is as bad as reported, I think the Chairman of Governors (a headhunter) has got some questions to answer.

CharlesRyder · 16/08/2014 08:39

BusyBee I would seriously consider finding out whether St George's have spaces for September if you want a co-ed, central Windsor school.

I looked at Brigidine for my DS who is also going into Reception this Sept and was VERY disappointed by what I saw happening in the classrooms (I am a senior teacher in Primary).
