Don't stress about the SATS - the school have it covered. We've been told there is no need to do any extra work with the children, their normal lessons are meeting their needs. In fact my DD doesn't really know a whole lot about it, I don't want her worrying about exams at 7. It's only for the league tables anyway.

SATS annoy me - can you tell?

Thanks KBear but my son has been having practice run all this week he had a reading test spelling test and a maths test which was extremely hard. one of the question was if you had 60 sweets and 10 were red 20 were blue how many were yellow??? As you said they are just 7 but he is finding it all stressful because they had to sit as if they were taking an exams and that difference make it harder

Sounds like your school deals with them differently to ours. We were told that they are important (again to show the school in a good light) but that they were kept low key, low pressure and certainly not taken like a formal examination.

There are loads of teachers on here that are bound to be able to help you.

Shame some of them feel pressured so young isn't it.

Thanks Celia2 I think I am going to have a wee!!! little chat with the teacher in the morning. They never seem to let us what is going on I do not believe in stressing such young children out either. Life is hard enough without not having to worry so early. Thanks for the info
