Sats Tests in English Year 6

I have just found out that my daughter's school are for the first time going to use the SATS and have them externally marked - I have no idea what papers are included in the Year 6 English SATS! Any advice gratefully received.

Past papers here.

I'm sure her teachers will adequately prepare her.

Is it an Independent school?

Please remember, if looking at past papers, writing is now teacher assessment. Only reading is externally marked.

Indigo you are probably right, but it does no harm for the OP to read one or two past papers.

If only because it reminds us who grown up our DCs are getting. I have to think about some of the SATs questions.

Why hasn't the school been doing them up to now?

and I thought they were phasing out SATs in primary school?

My DS did SATS - and I am sure that school said that they weren't going to use them anymore- as they were too stressful for the children.??

No. SATs are still done in Y6. Although the writing one has changed this year.

The Y2 ones have sort of been phased out. They're still done, but not in the same way.
