Hi ladies,

Can you please recommend a good tutor for 7+ exams for a little boy? We live in NW6 (Swiss Cottage) and I have another little baby. So i would ideally like a tutor within walking distance if possible but if not willing to travel.

Thanks.

/Tutor for age 7, surely he's either bright or not.

I was about to say don't bother.

Depending on how far you can travel, I know there's

  1. Advanced Tutorial Center in Mill Hill NW7 doing after school and Saturday classes from Reception
  2. Leaders are Readers who have Saturday classes in Edgware and I think from Reception too

Both have websites so you can easily look them up, however I don't know if either is well recommended or not but I've always had them at the back of my mind for when we reach the 7+ stage. We are still trying to get a reception place for Sept.

We toyed with the tutor idea and the school we were aiming for advised us to work through these.

Key Stage 1 Workbooks

Plus lots of reading, outings and playing with other children.

I also had to bribe my son to do the extra work. (One Beast Quest Book for each book completed and a DS game for every ten).

Managed only a few of these

Key Stage 2 Literacy

I've seen them here.
