How did you find a good 11+ Tutor?

We're looking for a tutor to prepare for the local grammar schools (Tiffin, Sutton & Wilsons) in the Ewell / Epsom / Surbiton area.

I have talked to everyone I can find who might be able to recommend and am chasing a few leads but lots of the best people are already full up (we are thinking of Sept 2014) and others are a bit cagey about giving out details.

I would really appreciate any advice anyone has about finding a good tutor - and also any recommendations in the local area.

Talk to the current year 6 parents who have been successful in getting grammar places at your son's school (preferably only ones without siblings in your son's year). Ask them who they used (nb not if they used someone).

Thanks Ladymuck, have tried that. There weren't that many who have gone the grammar route. Most who did have used a lady who is retiring this year. I don't really want to pick someone out of a hat but it's hard to know what to do without personal recommendation.
