SATs website?

I have tried searching the internet and MN, but so far have not been able to find quite what I am looking for, which is a website that I can link to that will explain what SATs are to an Australian school, as we are planning to move to Oz later this year.

The secondary school we are looking at (in Oz) have asked for grades to assist with placement. I am hoping that DDs current school will provide predicted levels for DD as she will be leaving at the end of Y5, so will miss out on taking the actual SATs.

In Oz they carry out tests during Y5 and I am fairly certain she will miss out on these tests too, which may or may not be a good thing.

or do you need descriptions of what the levels mean?

Or this?

How exciting for you all Smile

Thank you, I think those will be very useful - especially the websites that give the 'expected' levels for each age group.

CuriousMama we are heading 'home' - girls were both born in Australia and DD1 went to Kindergarten (Reception) before we left (and will be going back into the same school in Y6). I am excited as I love Sydney, but they are both a bit apprehensive - though I am sure they will love it once we are there. Smile

Oh how fantastic Smile They'll settle in quickly. My aunt emigrated there eons ago and both her dds were born there too. They returned to the UK though for various reasons.
