It's a good school. Not the most academic school - it's results are mediocre. But then, it's a good school for those who don't make it into the grammar schools and so part of that is it's strength - it's broad ability. Sport is good. Pastoral care is strong. The new Headmaster is great. The governors are very involved and active.

Would I send a boy there? Probably yes as a day pupil if we lived there. No to a boarder as IMO, there are much better non-academic boarding schools. A girl? Probably not, no. But then, it's not my absolute cup of tea there for girls, sorry.

Have you been to visit it? What did you think?

My tutee goes there, he loves it! Small class sizes, emphasis on sport, pastoral care very good as TPS said. It's not got a great reputation for its academic results, but my tutee seems to be taught very thoroughly in the subject I help him with (German).
