Kent College Pembury (prep school)

Anyone have any thoughts on Kent College Pembury (either positive or negative!)? Thinking of sending my daughter there. The school's small class sizes are the main draw; our nearest state primary tends to have around 34 kids / class. All input very much appreciated!

I was at KC but in the 80s! Relatively small then. But a large-ish number of foreign students. That's absolutely fine but many hung out in groups and shared the same dorms. School should have split them up then to 'force' greater integration. Teachers then very mixed. But much could have changed for the better since. Emphasis on sports and the surroundings were lovely.

Do you mean the prep or the senior school, MrsMarmot? I think Tartanj is asking about the prep, which is a separate school but shares some facilities. I would also like to hear about the prep - have heard very good reports of the senior school but nothing about the prep. It's lovely when you look round, but I read some criticism of the teaching there in the inspection report of 2 years ago. Does anyone know anything?

Yes, apologies. The senior school. Good luck.

KC does have a good reputation but if I were you I would go to see Derwent Lodge see here before making a decision, especially if its small that you are after. Not suggesting one is better than the other but any decision should be an informed one so you need to see what the competition alternative provision exists.
