....but it means she'll be going on Maternity leave from the 26th May. DS1, who's in reception, absolutely adores her - how have your children reacted to a teacher leaving part way through the year (particularly those in reception who are still settling in and getting used to school?).

I'm sure ds will be fine - kids are amazingly adaptable at that age.

That's - I'm sure your ds1 will be fine. I don't think mine will even notice (he hadn't noticed she was pregnant and she's huge!)

DS1's teacher is lovely - been teaching there since she qualified - just hope she comes back as she's fantastic - and very sweet and I want DS2 to have her as his teacher in a few years time LOL.. I suppose at least it's quite near the end of the school year, and when he goes into YR1 he'll get a new teacher anyhow.

We got the newsletter home today with the 'news' in it - I told DS1 and he said "I know she told us" awwwww.

DD1 had this when she was in Reception and year 1 (different teachers), then in year 2 her teacher got knocked over by a bus! (she's ok though) - so dd1 ended up with the same temporary teacher for most of the time at her Infants' school. In the 3 years at Infants' I think she only had her proper class teachers for 2 half terms!

Yeah, she'll get over it!

How very selfish of the teacher!

DS2's teacher's wife had a baby last week, so he's now on paternity leave for a fortnight. DS2 (6) is very excited: he wrote a card for his teacher today - "I hope you have a great life with your new baby" ... ROFL!
