Actually, there are two of them in the series, one is a dark green and the other one has a pink cover. The pink one is advanced and the green intermediate/upr intermediate.

They both have grammar and vocab exercises and the layout is the same on every page. There is a box with vocab/grammar at the top and then exes underneath.

I thought they were by Rosemary Aitken but I googled books by her and nothing came up that matched my descriptions.

Do they ring a bell with anyone?

crosses fingers

Thanks in advance!!!

Amazon select ?Books?, type ?EFL? (or ?ESL?) you get 1,470 results. You can see the cover and you can browse some of them.

Is it "English in Use" by Raymond Murphy?
www.amazon.co.uk/English-Grammar-Use-Answers-ROM/dp/0521537622
It has several levels with different bright coloured front colours and layout of book is similar

I've found it!!

And just in case anyone was lurking desperate for an update ;) the book I was after is 'Recycling Your English' by Clare West...of course, the cover has been all gussied up now so my green/pink hints would've been useless, anyway Grin

Thanks again for the replies
