DS is 6 and in year 2 at school. He is a summer born boy, and the youngest in his class. I want to help him practice his literacy and numeracy at home so I'm off to the shops at the weekend to buy some workbooks so I know what sort of things to help him with. I know there are probably loads of these types of books on the market so my question is, is there an 'official' one that follows the national curriculum? Thanks

Bizarrely you can get them from M&S - they call them Bright Stars books. Lots of stickers!

I really like the Letts ones. They're called things like Stinky Spelling and Hilarious Handwriting and include stickers and interesting characters.

Of all the things I have tried with DS, the Letts ones that fivecandles likes are the only ones he has actually enjoyed...

I agree, Letts books are good. Might be worth having a look at their website to help decide. For KS2 dd loved their Mythical Maths series.
