Thanks for the input, @LightDrizzle. I feel quite confident in sending him to Hymers now, mostly because of the practicality of the school run.

Pocklington is a lovely school though, plus he'd been offered a scholarship there which we were immensely proud of, so feeling quite sad!

Hymers College is riddled with wokeist lunacy. Teachers are banned by senior management from using pronouns he/she. They are forced to employ wokeist pronoun, they. Teachers are being compelled to follow a loony left policy that is not a legal requirement and is not legally enforceable.
This wokeist madness comes as no surprise as the head, Stanley, only pays attention to ethnic minority parents and pupils.
The neo-marxist, wokeist disease has infected the private, independent sector every bit as much as state schools. This is both very sad and utterly disgraceful.
There are other private schools in the region that do not pursue this loony left insanity.
