Would your child choose to be home-educated?

I read an article about home ed today and I find the idea in many ways very appealing. Dd1 started school in September and I think she would be horrified if I suggested to her to take her out of school. She is totally in love with her teacher and she likes being with her friends all day.

But if things change and she becomes unhappy I would take her out, I think.

I personally couldn't home educate because I need to work, and also want to get a break from my children sometimes.

Assessment of spoken english was in the CSE when I was in school.

The MFL bit is to see if they can actualy speak the language....but they get to prepare the talk they give. It is nothing like the oral essay I did when I was in school!

DS1 was quite clear last year when I was considering it that he didn't want to be home educated. He said "I want you to be my mum, not my teacher", which was interesting as he was totally miserable at school.
