present for reception teacher/assistant - help!

Talking with other mums at school today I realised we need to give the reception teacher and assistant a christmas present. They've been great with DD, who had trouble settling.
Does anyone have any top ideas (teacher allergic to chocolate)?
Any teachers out there ever received the perfect present?

Do teachers expect presents then? I've never given one, just sent in a christmas card - I've got enough people to buy for without adding more to the list.

Well personally i would never expect everything i work in quite a deprived area so anything that comes our way is always very gratefully accepted. If your child can write their own card in their very neatest writing that is reward enough.

I bought DS1's teacher a necklace from Next, as I know they always get loads of chocolate.

I am not sure the teachers are expecting anything, but the other parents are mostly planning a little something and the main thing for me is that they've made such a big effort with DD who really didn't settle easily.

We're going for the half-bottle of fizz with an ornament. DD chose a largish bright fuchsia shiny butterfly with silver glitter on it and said "they will certainly like that!".

I never expect anything and do feel embarrased when the parents get me to open gifts in front of the whole class! I am grateful though and will be spending tomorrow sending thank you cards.
