Haven now seen both of my two in the nativity, MN scarred by being 'the narator' and not given a costume will be delighted to note that the narators were given rather snazzy costumes, of a chequered robe and a red fez!!!!

So no one was scarred by the experience!

My dd is a narrator and has to wear her uniform ... she's gutted that she doesn't have a pretty costume, and is definitely going to be scarred for life

My ds told me he was a singer and didn't have a costume - Imagine my (and his) surprise to find out he was the MOST adorable sheep! 'Mummy! I was a sheep singer!'.

At our school they all dress up
Reception and yr1 (singers and "orchestra"!) just wear their party clothes
Yr2 all wear costumes ... which are all provided by the school!

I love our school

Each year are doing their own play at dd's school, so the little ones get proper parts as well as the bigger ones ... I just wish they'd let the poor narrators wear something other than uniform.

I might get dd some funky socks, so she's got something bright and jolly on - even if no-one can see it.

Could always give him a string of tinsel to drape over himself.

My dd was a narrator but she was asked to wear a pretty dress or party outfit. She didn't have one, so came with me to choose one. So she didn't feel left out at all.

My DS's are narrators in their play, they have to wear, black trousers, white shirts(their school ones are red), and red dicky bows.
They look so smart

I'm not telling dd any of this, she'll cry!
