best apps for babies / kids?

Hi All

We recently bought an iPad and are trying to find some good apps to entertain our 9-month-old son. Admittedly, he's quite young, but we live abroad and have to do relatively long flights quite often, so are hoping it will be a godsend.

Does anyone have any recommendations for apps for the 0 - 2 bracket? And maybe up to 5 yrs?

There are so many of them but I suppose that he's too smal for such apps... For example, our daughter wasn't interested much in them till she was 3 years old. Before that the best decision for her was watching cartoons on our I-Pad or laptop
Anyway I can recommend a few simple ones for this age, only the entertaining ones because it's not a proper time for him in case of more complicated and educational ones. Nighty Night about sending animals to sleep is a good one, also Cosmic Top, it just shows various spinning lights and is more like a bright cartoon for a kid, not a classic game app. Also Kids Shape Puzzle, Kids Piano and Coloring Book Game are nice ones too.
And for the perspective till 5 years old I can recommend to concetrate more on teaching games and apps. We've already started with them and our daughter adores such games, they bring her much fun and are interesting and also veyr effective in teaching her various things. I can advise to try Kids Math, Counting Caterpillar, Crazy Times Tables and Zebrainy ABC Wonderlands itunes.apple.com/app/apple-store/id1165324239?mt=8 for learning alphabet. Such games usually have a better quality comparing with simple entertaining ones so rather often kids like them more than other types of games
