secondary teachers - anyone know about threshold 3 applications?

I was awarded upper threshold 2 two yrs ago now. I was under the impression all other threshold payments were suspended or similar as the govt had run out of money. but a friend who works at another school came over last week and said she's just done her application for threshold 3. she's been teaching the sane amount of time as me. she said the deadline (at her school at least) had been and gone. i'm currently on maternity leave and not due back til may/june and we also have a new head who's been trying to cut our spending. obviously i'll pursue this after the weekend but just wondered if anyone knew about this anyway. the nasuwt site is useless, the info is incomprehensible

that's not threshold, that's advanced skills teaching, isn't it? threshold is just about how long you've been teaching and producting evidence that you're meeting targets and teaching to a certain standard. advanced skills is when you act as a kind of mentor and go out to other schools to tell other teachers how they can do better (like THAT'll go down well!)

Progression to the third level of the threshold should be automatic as long as satisfactory performance managements. You shouldn't have to produce any extra evidence.. according to the unions. check out your union's advice. Take any extra money going for goodness sake.. you are a teacher!!!

Anyone who's willing to stand in front of 30 or so teenagers in a classroom has my absolute admiration
