How long to learn to touch type???

DS has big issues around writing and we are going through the BBC typing course atm. He is about to enter the last level and I wondered what next. Should he practice a little every day and if so how long etc...

grateful for any tips.

He is 11.

Find a chat site he enjoys (11 yo equivalent of MN) and he'll be touch typing in no time. IMO it's much easier to just 'live it' than 'learn it'.

Yet the practice needs to be little and often. I need to take my own advice and get DS going again as he treats the BBC course like a game to be raced through the levels as fast as possible without improving.
