what do these levels mean?

Just had end of the year report-
English 5m,Maths5m,history4,science5m.
What do they actually mean?
This is year 5 report. Tried googling it but can't really make any sense.

I don't know what the m means, but if your child is working at/has attained level 5 for English, Maths and Science, that's excellent. I'm not an expert but I imagine level 4 history at the end of year 5 is also very good. When they sit their sats the highest they can get, officially, is a level 5a, in Year 6.
