I need some advice about schools for my Y8 DD

We're in the process of moving to SE London and I'm getting a bit bogged down in finding a decent school for DD in Y8. She was at grammar in our last area so I'm trying for Bexley grammars but with a Lewisham address we're only allowed 3 choices on the in year admissions form. I'm looking for backup should there not be places in the grammars and have been told there are places in Coopers Technology College, Beaverwood Girls, Crown Woods and Sydenham girls. Any opinions on these?? Confused

I have boys, so I'm not speaking from personal experience, but I'm in Bromley so not that far away - the girls schools in the area seem to have a good reputation - Newstead Wood, Bullers Wood and Langley Park. Coopers has a fairly good reputation too, but obv not a grammar school. I guess you have to visit each one and see what seems to suit best, a good ofsted doesn't always mean it will be good for your child IYSWIM

Crown Woods new build has 3 colleges for 11-16 and one for 6th formers. One of the colleges is only for higher ability pupils, so this may be a good choice. The school has not had a good reputation in the past, but I think this will change now. Certainly your dd will not be taught in mixed ability classes, although the general standard will not be as high as a grammar.

We live in Lewisham and the daughter of one of our neighbours has just started at Crown Woods (top performers' college) - they are very happy...
