Most of the parents in my sons class are chipping in a fiver each to send his teacher to Champneys for a spa day.

It so happens that my sons teacher is also a very good of friend of mine so she told me I think this is what she would love as a present.

I'm getting £10 vouchers for the teachers, TAs and SENCOS I really like.....

And I'm also getting £10 vouchers for the teachers and TAs I don't like as much - because one of my DC might get them again at some stage Grin

Plus I'm getting my DD to write cards to everyone - without any help at all so that her teacher, phonics teacher, TA, SENCO and HT can see that she can't write at all how much she has progressed this year Grin

I don't hold with the idea of "acceptable" amounts. It's a gift. Whatever you do don't get into the mindset that you have to spend a certain amount. As a teacher I never expect gifts myself. If you want to get anything, get something consumable. I got my DDs' playschool ladies a handbag sized perfumed spray each for Christmas (about a pound each) and some biscuits to share for their meetings. Primary teacher usually gets something similar, just a small token of appreciation. Don't feel pressured into spending more than you can easily afford though.

We did a collective gift and bought vouchers for treatments at a really swish salon for the class teachers. I gave DD's art teacher a bottle of champagne.
