Private tuition?

DH is a teacher, but doesn't have a job from September. Jobs seem to be few and far between. We're in need of the cash, obviously, so he's thinking about trying to set up some private tuition. Does anyone have any idea how to start? If you were looking for a private tutor for your children (he's a secondary school languages teacher, went to Oxbridge so could do that kind of thing), where would you look? Where do these people advertise?

Word of mouth is often the best, but you may need to go through agencies to set up. Agencies take an indecent amount of money at times.
