Hi,

I am interested in knowing about the current process that needs to be followed by schools and LA to increase Published Admission Numbers for the current school year after parents have submitted their admission applications for the current school year.

Thanks,

Normally the LA has an annual admission consultation at which any changes to PAN are consulted upon and then agreed by the LA. The agreement has to be in March / April the year before the admissions, so for September 2011 entry the admission number would have been agreed in April 2010.

Having said that there are circumstances where it is possible for a school and LA to agree a change in PAN and get it approved by the Schools Adjudicator in a shorter period of time. It is also possible for schools with the agreement of the LA to go over PAN for bulge classes as long as it does not affect other schools.

I think you need to give more detail about exactly what has happened to have more chance of giving a fuller answer. Is this possible or not?

Thanks admission.

We have a school in our LA which had the PAN of 20 for 2011, however they have admitted 24. They have also changed their PAN for year 2012 to 24. For the LA and school to admit the extra 4 students this year would they need the approval of school's adjudicator?

No, See what PRH said on other set of posts, it is clearly with the agreement of the LA and school.
