What is on the EYFS for nursery age?

DS3 not got a place in ANY nursery, there is no appeals process and we are halfway down a list. I don't want him to be behind when he goes to school and i know i sound like a pushy mother but i'm really not!

When you say nursery do you mean school nursery? Is there a private nursery/pre school you could send him to?

There is a lot on the EYFS, not easy to just type here! Just search for the EYFS doc online and look at his age bracket.

But tbh I wouldn't bother. Play with him, sing to himm talk to him and read to him. He'll be fine!

Yes sorry, i mean the year before they go to school. (He is 3) There are a couple of places that accept the government vouchers that have spaces but i don't drive and the logistics of getting others to school and then getting across town are a nightmare. I don't drive and the nearest place with room is a 45 min walk from my house or an hour from the DCs school.

I guess i feel like i need to do more with him. DS1 seemed to do LOADS at the nursery, DS2 has "issues" so never seemed to do much at all lol!

Well have a quick look online, just to reassure yourself, but honestly if you spend time doing things with him he will be fine. Basically it is split into 6 areas, each area is split down further and linked to an age bracket. Maybe choose one of the 6 and find out a bit, and gradually work through? So choose creative things to do one week, physical things another, Obviously you'll do all of them every week anyway with this age, but just so you have a focus?

The only thing he will miss out on is socialising with other children are there groups you can take him to?

All nurseries or pre schools have to give you your 15 hours free. You are entiled to it unless it's day care.

Really? I work at a private nursery and I was pretty certain that we were not allowed to charge. I'll have to ask my boss. But the only way we make money at the moment is by offering lunch clubs and extended sessions. We aren't allowed to charge a top up on what the government considers a session to cost, so seeing as the money the government pays for a session doesn't even cover wages and normal expenses, I would have thought we would have opted out of we could have done.

Oh well, I'll happily stand corrected. I'll have to get my manager to explain it to me.

Bubble it is only accredited nurseries etc that can accept the government "voucher". Maybe your nursery accepts that scheme?
