RobinW I can't offer much in the way of an answer. Has your school had a parents evening yet? My son's school had one recently to outline the year's work themes to everyone. We missed it because we were on holiday.
If you feel reluctant to raise the boredom issue with the teacher right now, could you ask her what your daughter will be studying this term, so you can build on those topics at home ie visits to museums etc?
I really don't know if it's normal for children to feel bored when they move to the juniors. My son complains of boredom sometimes. If lots of her classmates are saying they are bored, is it because the new teacher is making things boring? Or is your daughter getting more homework now, and having less time for fun at school? Or perhaps she is still settling in? I remember my first junior year coming as a bit of a jolt to me (those many, many, years ago).
I'd be tempted to broach the subject with her teacher after half term.
